What are the benefits of becoming a Patelco member?

Patelco is a member owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative. When you join Patelco, you become a member and a shareholder. That’s why we’ll deposit one share ($1) in your Share Savings account when you join.

Our mission is to help members achieve lifelong financial well-being so you can live happier, fuller lives.

Unlike the big banks or other for-profit financial institutions, we invest our profits back in our members with better rates and low- to no fees.

What do I get for the $6.95 monthly fee?

The Plus Checking account is loaded with benefits at great value so you don’t have to pay more for protection elsewhere. For comparison, cell phone insurance typically costs $7-10 per month. Identity Guard Family costs $12.50 – $34.99 per month. Roadside assistance costs $50-$156 a year.

You get all these benefits and more for a low monthly fee of $6.95.

How do I activate my Plus Checking benefits?

Enroll at the Patelco Plus Benefits website using your email address and temporary password emailed to you after account opening. Or download the Patelco Plus Benefits App⁵ for iOS or Android.

You’ll be able to access all of the benefits that come with your Plus Checking account on the website or Patelco Plus Benefits App.

How do I use 24/7 Roadside Assistance?

All Plus Checking account holders and family members can take advantage of this service. For example, if you have a college student living away from home, this benefit can help provide extra peace of mind. Call 855.822.9464 or use your Patelco Plus App and click on Roadside Assistance.

We’ll cover up to $80 per incident, 4 times each 12 months — for towing, flat tire, battery, and more.

How does Automatic Round-Up savings with 10% match work?

It’s an easy way for you to automatically put money into your savings account with every debit card purchase. Every debit card purchase gets rounded-up to the nearest dollar with the rounded-up amount automatically transferred from your checking account to your savings account.

We will match 10% of the rounded-up amount and deposit it into your savings account up to $500 per year. Connect with us to set up this benefit.

How does cell phone protection work?

You must pay your cell phone bill from your Plus Checking account. Make sure to set up automatic monthly payments with your provider, or log in to Online Banking to use Bill Pay. It’s that simple!

We’ll cover up to 3 phones with $400 maximum per claim ($800 maximum, or 2 claims per year. Only broken or stolen phones are covered.)

How does credit monitoring work?

As part of your Plus Checking benefits, you’ll receive free credit monitoring across all 3 bureaus, including free quarterly credit report. You’ll also receive alerts if anything on your credit profile changes.

How does ID theft protection work?

Use the Online ID vault for sensitive information, documents, and passwords you want monitored and protected.

After you open your account, we’ll tell you how to access the Online ID vault and set up your account.

Receive coverage for you and your family with up to $10,000 a year of theft insurance to help cover charges accrued due to the theft (e.g. lawyer’s fees, lost wages) Fully managed ID Restoration Pro for the entire family to discover, isolate and prevent future fraud. Monitoring of public records, the internet and dark web, payday loans, and other places your information doesn’t belong.

How does the ATM fee rebate work?

You can use any ATM worldwide and receive automatic reimbursement of ATM fees by the end of the day, for up to two reimbursements per month.

How do I take advantage of the special discounts?

You can enjoy local and national discounts on dining, entertainment, travel, health and shopping at thousands of merchants and stores you love like Target and Walgreens. Access the discounts on the Patelco Plus Benefits App powered by BaZing. You can even turn on alerts to receive notifications for discounts near you.
